Excuse Me.

I am seriously slacking with these outfit posts! I have had these photos sitting on my camera for a good month now with no reasonable excuse as to why I haven't posted them, so alas the time has finally come.

Shirt dress - H&M
Bag - Mulberry
Brogues - Primark
Watch - vintage Omega

I did feel slightly like a waiter wearing this as a dress ( I did have a black slip on underneath to ensure my modesty was retained), but ultimately I like the simplicity of the look and it's ease of wearing.
On a side note - WHY IS IT STILL SO COLD?!!?!? I have so many spring/summer things I am dying to wear *sob*

Gimme, Gimme, Gimme...#6 Holiday special

I am jetting off on holiday next month to Cuba, so as an homage to the impending sunshine I thought it only appropriate to compile a little wishlist of items that I would love to be part of my holiday wardrobe (although I may have already bought a couple of the things, whoops!)
Cutout bikini - River Island   Yellow cape sleeve dress - Zara   Necklace - Chelsea Doll   Denim dress - H&M
White wrap skirt - River Island   Black flatforms - River Island
White clutch - & Other Stories   Floral shirt dress - Topshop
Khaki maxi dress - Miss Selfridge   Sandals - Topshop

I had a River Island voucher left over from Christmas so I picked up the tomato red bikini and the white wrap skirt, although I have had my eye on these flatforms for a good while now but I just can't justify (at the moment) ANOTHER pair of black shoes. I love the skirt, and think it is perfect date night attire so hopefully it will get an outing soon, although it is snowing as a write this...

I think I will definitely purchase the snakeskin sandals from Topshop as I can see myself getting so much wear out of them over the summer, and I do love the floral shirt dress although I think it may be touching upon being indecently short.

Have you checked out & Other Stories yet? It's a new brand within the H&M family, and it has got some really beautiful items; clean lines and simplistic styles that you can see wearing endlessly. Plus, the white clutch is similar to the gorgeous Acne one but a quarter of the price, although I wouldn't exactly call it a 'snip' at £55!

I want everything featured here, and I want it now. Monochrome will always be in style, so eternally chic.

Seven Sisters.

Went for a little jaunt down to a secluded beach at the weekend, taking advantage of some sunshine before it decides to go into hibernation one again. I was slightly misled as to how long/muddy/slippy the walk to the beach would be, so once again I was the most inappropriately dressed person for an outdoor activity. When will I learn???

Sunglasses (old)  - Topshop (similar here)
Jumper - Primark
Shorts - Topshop
Boots (old) - Kurt Geiger
Bag - Primark

Excuse mud on boots!
White matte nails, new faves!

This jumper is actually a very pale pastel pink; I got it recently from trusty ol' Primark, and I think it will be a great transitional jumper heading into Spring/Summer when I can pair it with other pastels. I also have an idea of pairing it with an old pair of leopard print jeans that I think I stuffed under my bed somewhere so we shall see how that one turns out. Trial and error after all.

Paris.

I know the world and her auntie has this T-shirt, and it's being rocked everywhere over the blogosphere, but hey ho replica t shirts happen :)

Black gilet - Internacionale

This might have been slightly glam for a regular day at the office, but I really, really like the final (unintentional) monochromatic outcome of this look, and it was nice to give my jacket an airing, it definitely deserves to see the light of day more often! Also, this gilet makes me feel pretty pimp, haha!

Embellished jacket - Zara
T-shirt - Ebay
Dress - H&M
Boots - H&M

Until next time folks...

Overload.

So apparently I am a bigger fan of H&M than I realised, what with being nearly head-to-toe in it here...

Jumper - H&M
Shirt - H&M
Leggings - Missguided

Boots - H&M (different colour)

I have slight attachment issues when it comes to this jumper; it has a light musty scent thanks to the months it spent cooped up in backpack whilst travelling, and it definitely has a raggedy, well-worn appearance up close, yet it still remains a staple item in my wardrobe. As I sit here writing this I have just realised how sad it is to have attachment issues with a jumper, oh gawd.

Moving on swiftly, I am currently experiencing a somewhat love affair with these boots. Despite the copious amounts of black boots I own, these have just the right heel height and casual style that make them perfect for daytime. They also make me feel rather 90s which I quite enjoy...

I am on a strict spending cut at the moment and feel rather forlorn at the state of my wardrobe, however, after seeing my mother at the weekend in a jumper that she has owned for a good 15 years, I must keep reminding myself that it is ok to wear the same clothes more than a couple of times. Tough times ahead I sense...

Sunday 27 January 2013

Lets go eskimo.

So I took these photos at the very beginning of the week, just as the snow had descended into slush and I had the chance to break free from the confines of boring, weather appropriate clothing ( anyone else resemble the michelin man whilst trying to keep warm? Snow chic I was not).

Beanie - Asos
Jumper - Topshop
Jeans - Topshop
Boots - Zara
Necklace - Thrifted
Not the most exciting of outfits, granted, but I have managed to drag myself away from black leggings/disco pants and into some forest green jeans that haven't seen the light of day for some time. Are coloured jeans still 'in'? I still think they are a great way of adding a pop of colour to an outfit so I'm just gonna roll with it...

Also, I have become a little bit obsessed with this Topshop jumper that I bought just after Christmas, I have literally worn it with everything. Jeans, dresses, skirts, you name it. I best start weaning myself off of it otherwise these outfit posts are going to become VERY repetitive.

Anyway, hope everyone had a good weekend. Monday tomorrow, ARGH.

Frankie (didn't go to Hollywood).

So, this week my sister managed to bring another beautiful baby into the world, a niece for me called Frankie, (hence the post title). I haven't had a chance to meet her yet (waaahh!), but will be rushing home this weekend to get in some much needed cuddles!

Anyway, on to the important stuff...clothes! Bit of a jumble and I feel slightly like I belong in Paddington Bear but hey ho. I guess I should take advantage of the mild(ish) weather before this supposed great freeze grips the country and I will be wearing nothing but chunky jumpers and a fur coat for 2 weeks.

Hat - Topshop
Scarf - H&M
Jacket - H&M (old)
Jeans - Topshop (very old and worn!)
Boots - Internacionale (on sale now!)
Bag - Louis Vuitton

Fur-ever

After a continuous 2 weeks of gluttony over the Christmas period, I have felt especially drawn to anything oversized (and preferably black) that may be lurking in my wardrobe, hoping it will hide any evidence of a few extra festive pounds. Hence this latest outfit...

Studded headband - Boohoo
Oversized printed top - Asos (very old)
Cardigan - Primark
Leather look leggings - Missguided
Boots - Office

Faux fur gilet - Internacionale

Chain bracelet - Stella McCartney (old)
Spiked bracelet - Topshop (similar here)

I have had this ASOS top for years now and go through phases of letting it see the light of day, but I really like it paired with some 'leather' leggings, and teamed with a heeled black boot would be perfect for casual drinks of an evening (as opposed to the office where I was going, BOO!).

Happy New Year!!!

I suppose I should start this post off by saying happy new year everyone! I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and partook in significant over-indulging, I definitely did (struggling to sit comfortably in my jeans as I type this!).

I was a very lucky girl this Christmas; as well as receiving some lovely bits and pieces (including a shiny new bike, felt like a little kid again!), I also treated myself to a few little prezzies so thought I would share with you my goodies.

Animal Print Playsuit - Oh My Love

Black leopard print dress - In Love With Fashion

Beaded jacket - Zara (sold out online)

Gold mesh vest - RIver Island

Black studded loafers - River Island

Berry boots (now only £17!) - Internacionale

Nude Platforms - Topshop

Finally, the platforms are mine! After weeks and weeks of going on about them, the boy took on board the not so subtle hints I had been dropping about these badboys, and I joyously unwrapped their beauty on Christmas day. They are the perfect heel for spring/summer and I am just so excited to wear them! Sad? Maybe. Do I care? Absolutely not.

Another little gem which I was fortunate enough to receive was the amazing embellished jacket from Zara. I had been eyeing it up for a while everytime I went in to Zara, but couldn't quite bring myself to part with the dollar for it. Luckily I didn't have to, and it magically found it's way under my Christmas tree :) I've worn it a few times already as it's so easy to just sling on and livens up otherwise plain outfits. Expect to see it in an outfit post very soon!

I have had a mooch round the post-Christmas sales but have to say I left very disappointed! Apart from picking up the gold vest (above) from River Island, nothing seemed to float my boat and it really did seem like the shops were scraping the bottom of the barrel with the stock that was out. Oh well, I treated myself to a few full price things anyway (whoops!).

Anyway, here is to a new year and the standard new years resolutions; eat healthy, exercise regularly and blog more!
